From Omega to Luna
Chapter 30 The Wounded Alpha

Athan Buffay looks like a sleeping doll at the moment. His sculpted features looked lifeless, and it was unknown how long he had been asleep. Markus said he woke up once in between, but quickly fell back asleep because of the medication. I brushed the strands of hair from his forehead lightly, ran my fingers across his cheek, and took his hand. This man, who looked so heroic all the time, was lying here like a wounded little beast. I sighed deeply and sat down beside him. After a while, I gradually fell asleep. When I woke up again, a large hand was gently stroking my hair and I looked up to meet Athan Buffay's eyes. His eyes were full of smiles, and his dark green pupils reminded me of a dense forest on a sunny day, which looked very peaceful. I was pleasantly surprised and quickly asked him if he was feeling better. Athan Buffay shook his head slightly, which panicked me immediately, I got up and wanted to go to the doctor, but was pulled back by him. Athan Buffay grabbed my arm and dragged me back, I fellto the bed and I was wrapped in his arms by him. His chin was on the top of my head, and I was enveloped in the minty smell of him. He didn't hug me tight, just wrapped his arms around me gently. I didn't dare to move, I was worried of pulling on his wound, so I had to stay still. "When did you come?" Athan Buffay's voice came from above my head. "Just now. Markus brought me in," I whispered. "I heard the news about the explosion on the radio. "So, are you here because you were worried about me, or because you were worried about your husband's surgery?" Athan Buffay asked again. This question of his made me a little flustered, and I didn't know how to answer it
At this time, he smiled slightly. "It's okay, the answer doesn't matter," his voice sounded pleasant, I looked up at him, his eyes were very gentle: "As long as you are by my side, that's enough. I blushed and stopped talking. Athan Buffay seems to have slept a lot and is ver y energetic. He said with a smile: "Did Markus tell you how I sacrificed my life to save you? Did I tell you that I was injured and almost died because of you?" . When I saw his expression as if asking for credit, I couldn't help thinking that he was a littl e funny, so I nodded my head. Who knew that Athan Buffay suddenly approached my face and said in a low voice, "Then are you lying on my bed now to thank me? Do you want to sleep here tonight?" . I was so frightened that I pushed him away and jumped out of bed, but Athan Buffay's express ion suddenly became twisted, he looked like he was in pain. Did I accidentally touch his woun d just now? I quickly helped him sit up, and raised his bed, then covered him with the quilt. "You look very skilled," Athan Buffay's ex pression became strange again. "Do you usu ally take care of your husband like this?" . I nodded disapprovingly : "Yes, I take care of h im like this every day. Unexpectedly, after I answered, Athan Buffay stopped talking. The gentle smile on his face disappeared, replaced by his usual dignified expression. I don't know what I said to make him unhappy again. At this moment, Markus knocked on the door: "Mr. Buffay, our detector shows that you are awake, can I come in?" . "Come in. " Athan Buffay replied, and Markus walked in. He bowed slightly and sa id, "I told Miss Katherine a part of the current situation just now, but she doe sn't know what happened after the explosion. Do you want to tell her in person?"
Athan Buffay nodded and said to me: "According to my clues, the origin al location of the explosion was my office on the top floor, so I left early that day. But who knows, the bomb detonated in the parking lot. A bad premonition came over me, and I suddenly remembered Ma rkus' wariness of not telling me the truth during the day. I asked, "Do you suspect that there are traitors around you?" . "That's right," Markus continued, “We learned about this explosion after we caught David Hunter, that’s why we were prepared. But the time and location of the explosi on's eventual detonation still changed after we temporarily changed our schedule. "This shows that there are traitors among the people aroun d me," Athan Buffay concluded. "That's why Markus couldn't tell you the truth when he saw you during the day today. Markus nodded, "Yes, there are rumors that Mr. Bu ffay died in the explosion. And we have to find o ut who the traitor around us is during this time. "Didn't you catch David Hu nter, can you find a way to get him to talk?" I asked. I saw Markus shook his head. "Earlier today, we let him go. The power behind him is huge, and we have to put on a loser's stance to get them to let th eir guard down. " He turned to me with an expression on his face. Very solemn: "During my investigation of the traitor, we can't guarantee that those pe ople will not find this secret room, so we must transfer Mr. Buffay to a place that’s safe and no one would think of, so that he can recover in peace. Little by little I nodded along with his words, and it wasn't until the last sentence that I realized t hat Athan Buffay and Markus were both staring at me. I shouted in surpr ise: "Wait, do you mean, my house?!"
